jessica o replied: "erythromycin....thats also for pink eye.. lol why dont you go see a doctor. or check with a pharmacy to see if you can get it otc."

originalkippyj replied: "Why can't you just go and get a prescription? You can't get it legally without a prescription in the U.S., and I doubt you'll find it on the black market. There is a product that cleared up my daughter's face in 10 days and she has gorgeous skin now. It's called Zapzyt and I bought it at. It's on sale right now for $11.99 for the three-step pack, which is what I bought for her. She had previously tried Proactiv, which didn't work for her and was a lot more expensive. Good luck, acne sux."

TKS replied: "It's usually used in a liquid form and applied to the face. There isn't any place that I know of that would sell it without a prescription."

I have a prescription for erythromycin gel with benzoyl for acne, how important is it to keep it in the fridge I've been keeping it at room temperature for the last 3 or 4 days before I realized it said in fine print to put in the refrigerator. Is the medicine still good? I never had to put my erythromycin topical liquid in the fridge.

Andrew D replied: "It might still be good -- the medicine will solidify into a gel that you won't be able to apply if you don't keep it in the refrigerator. It is very important to keep this form of medication in the refrigerator; otherwise, it destabilizes (and hardens). The combination of erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide is very effective, especially for oily skin with acne, but it does have to be kept in the refrigerator for this combination to remain stable."

What is the best treatment you have had for acne? Either prescription or commercial.? What is the best treatment you have had for acne? Either prescription or commercial. Prescription: Erythromycin Benzoyl Peroxide, Clindamycin Phosphate Commercial: Clearasil Acne Cleanser, PanOxyl Benzoyl Peroxide 10% I've heard that a prescription drug called BenzaClin is good, but I have not tried it and I am wondering if anyone has tried it and how effective it was. Or what is the best treatment you've had?

mariana c replied: "for acne it's beter to follow a prescription. and to clean your face properly"

kellyed17 replied: "My brother had BAD acne, I mean like face scarring acne and he was on Accutane which didn't work at all for him. He was worried about this acne problem he was having so he decided to try Proactiv after he saw it on TV one night. After one week his face was completely clear. This stuff works great for him and his face is 100% clear. Maybe try that "

tommy84567 replied: "Neutrogena is good for face wash"

kerriannsurratt replied: "the best thing I have ever used was Natures Cure, an over the counter medication that you take by mouth! It helps fight acne on the inside. Also Dermologica products are kinda expensive but AMAZING! A lot of celebrities use it and I think you can only get it in a salon but it works amazingly! I used to have horrible acne that I would cry about I tried everything including proactive... but this was the only thing that worked."

Wonderer replied: "Dickinson's Witch Hazel Formula is the best commercial acne stuff ever!!! It leaves you acne free and feeling refreshed."

mrs sexy pants replied: "neither ... prescription OR commercial. prescription drugs or topicals are still harsh on the skin & the drugs absorbed in the skin can cause other problems, believe or not. there have been cases where people who have used acne medication have commited suicide or have had mental problems. unbelievable! and as for commercial products, they still contain chemicals, and the skin is sensitive. i suggest using all natural products. i personally use Burt's Bees. i have acne and super sensitive skin & it works for me! they have fabulous products that are neither harsh on my skin nor do they clog my pores. they're not expensive either."

cutie replied: "go to faceforgirls.piczo.com and its ok if you a boy.but u can talk to people to see wats wrong wit ur face and talk about products. its a safe site and no bad words a aloud i can baned people to."

Has anyone had a doctor prescribe Erythromycin oral liquid to your child? I filled a prescription today for my little 2 month girl and the pharmacist said he had to divide the amount for some reason, and now I am fearing the dosage might be wrong. He calculated it to be at .78 per dosage every 6 hours is this the right dosage? the pharmacy is now closed, it was a local one at the Medical building. the medicine is 400 mg/5ml, the baby is 12 pounds, it was prescribed for suspected "whooping cough" purtissis. We will get the results on Monday, until now the pediatrician said it wont do her bad but good to take it just in case. Sorry for the rate reply, just saw your post. yes its liquid.

Rickydotcom replied: "The amount prescribed is appropriate for your daughter's age, weight and infection. The dosage is 30-50mg/kg/day in divided doses. The upper limit for your daughter would be 68.75mg 4 times a day. The dose prescribed is 62.4mg 4 times a day, which is within normal limits. This medication is available in drops, but using the 400mg/5ml suspension is OK and allows a smaller volume of fluid for your daughter to swallow. To lessen your fears, erythromycin is a very forgiving drug when it comes to dosing. The most common side effects are stomach/GI-related, such as vomiting or diarrhea. Call your doctor if this occurs. I hope your baby gets well soon. Rick the Pharmacist Rick the Pharmacist"

Lea replied: "More than likely the doctor calculated the wrong dosage, and the pharmacist had to fix it. That is a fairly common event. The pediatric dose is about 7.5-12.5mg per kilogram every 6 hours. The dosage looks fine."

Has Anyone ever tried Erythromycin for Acne? I got this prescription for acne and the bottle name is "Erythromycin Benzoyl Peroxide Topical Gel" Has anyone ever tried it? if so how do u use it? and what are their side effects? does it even work?

emily l replied: "Yes I took it in high school. It made my teeth yellow and really dried out my skin. Be careful with it and watch your sun exposure."

Cristobal Salvaje replied: "it works...stay out of the sun"

x replied: "How should you take Erythromycin, Benzoyl peroxide? Use Benzamycin 2 times per day, once in the morning and once in the evening, or as directed by your doctor. Before applying Benzamycin, thoroughly wash the affected area with soap and warm water, rinse well, and gently pat dry. Apply Benzamycin to the entire area, not just the pimples. * If you miss a dose... Apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. * Storage instructions... This medication should be stored in your refrigerator in a tightly closed container and discarded after 3 months. Do not freeze. What side effects may occur? Very few side effects have been reported with the use of Benzamycin. However, those reported include dryness and swelling. Occasionally, use of Erythromycin, Benzoyl peroxide has caused a burning sensation; eye irritation; inflammation of the face, eyes, and nose; itching; oiliness; reddened skin; skin discoloration; skin irritation and peeling; and skin tenderness. If any side effects develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue using Benzamycin."

Does anyone know if you can use Erythromycin Benzoyl Peroxide past it's expiration date? My doctor gave me that prescription and i haven't used it for a while. It expired in 5/06

A prescription calls for ....? A prescription calls for erythromycin 400mg/5ml, dispense 100ml. The dose is 40mg/kg/day and the child weighs 44 pounds. The sig. reads ____tsp qid until gone. What would the tsp dose be? How many days will the prescription last?

Katie K replied: "The child weighs 44 pounds, which converts to 20kg. You have to multiply the dose of 40mg/kg/day by 20 kg to get 800mg total per day. If you are giving 400mg/5ml (5ml = 1 teaspoon), and you are giving it QID, then 800mg/4 times a day = 200mg per dose. In other words, you need to give 1/2 teaspoon QID until gone. If you dispense 100ml, this will give you 8000mg total, and it will last 10 days. Sorry if this is confusing, I'm bad at explaining things! :) Hope it helps!"
